1. Who We Are

VitalEdgeFit ("we", "us", "our") is an independent fitness and nutrition content website operated at https://vitaledgefit.com. The site is operated by an individual based in Greece, European Union. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, VitalEdgeFit is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate our site and communicate with you.

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter. We also ask for your first name (optional) to personalise emails.
  • Enquiry content, if you contact us by email, we retain the content of that correspondence.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Analytics data, we use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to understand how visitors interact with our content. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, time on site, approximate geographic location (country/city level), device type, and referral source. This data is associated with a pseudonymous cookie-based identifier stored on your device. We have enabled IP anonymisation so that your full IP address is never stored by Google Analytics. Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
  • Affiliate tracking, when you click an affiliate link (e.g. to Amazon), the destination retailer may set cookies on your device to attribute purchases. We do not control these cookies; they are governed by the retailer's own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Email address: to send the newsletter you subscribed to, and occasional announcements about new content. We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • Analytics data: to understand which content is useful, improve site performance, and identify technical errors.
  • Correspondence: to respond to your enquiry and maintain a record of communications.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use the following categories of cookies on our site:

  • Strictly necessary cookies, set by Cloudflare (our CDN and hosting provider) for security and performance. These cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.
  • Analytics cookies (consent required), Google Analytics sets cookies (including _ga, _ga_*) to distinguish users and track sessions. These are only set after you accept analytics cookies via our consent banner. You can opt out at any time via the banner or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Affiliate tracking cookies, set by third-party retailers (e.g. Amazon) when you click an affiliate link. These are controlled entirely by the destination retailer and are governed by their own cookie policy.

You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that disabling analytics cookies does not affect your ability to browse or use the site.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Cloudflare (hosting & CDN), processes traffic metadata to protect and deliver our site. Privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • Google Analytics (analytics), processes pseudonymous usage data on servers in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. IP anonymisation is enabled. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
  • ConvertKit / Kit (email delivery), your email address is stored and processed by ConvertKit on servers in the United States. ConvertKit is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Privacy policy: kit.com/privacy.
  • Amazon Associates (affiliate programme), Amazon may set cookies when you click our affiliate links. Amazon's privacy notice: amazon.com.

7. Data Retention

  • Email subscriptions: your email address is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Google Analytics data: we retain analytics data for 14 months (configured in our Google Analytics property settings). After that, data is automatically deleted by Google.
  • Email correspondence: retained for up to 2 years, then deleted, unless ongoing correspondence requires longer retention.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access, to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification, to request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure, to request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"), where no overriding legitimate ground exists.
  • Right to restriction, to request that we limit processing in certain circumstances.
  • Right to portability, to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object, to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent, to withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based (newsletter, analytics cookies), without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Data Rights Request". We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. As VitalEdgeFit is operated from Greece, the lead supervisory authority is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) (dpa.gr). If you are located in another EU member state, you may also contact your national Data Protection Authority.

9. International Data Transfers

Some of our third-party service providers (Google Analytics, ConvertKit) are based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework adequacy decision and/or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure your data receives equivalent protection to that required under GDPR.

10. Children's Privacy

VitalEdgeFit is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted their data to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect when changes were made. Material changes will be communicated to newsletter subscribers via email.
